The Playthings Past Collection

GUND has been making America's premiere soft toys for over 100 years and take great pride in its history. That's why they created PLAYTHINGS PAST™, a limited edition collection of replicas of early GUND toys which replicate the designs from 1920 to 1949. The collection stays true to the toys' original designs, using old patterns and re-creations of materials. This is a rare opportunity for collectors.

INSURANCE
 As with any collectible, we cannot guarantee delivery in the same condition as it leaves us. Therefore, It is highly recommended that you insure your purchase. We do our best to pack as carefully as we can in bubble wrap, but the post office is not very gentle with the packages, and insurance is fairly inexpensive to preserve your collectible. Insurance is $2.20 for the first $100.00 and goes up $1.00 per hundred after that. So, if you purchase $300.00, you would click on the $2.20 and then the $100.00 two times. Call if you have questions.

Golden Mohair Bear™ Among all the bears Gund produced in the early years, this golden mohair teddy made in 1931 was one of the best. This 12" replica is a classic design, and its material is 100% mohair. Just like the original, this traditional teddy is fully articulated with real glass  eyes, hand embroidered nose, hand clipped muzzle, and a red satin ribbon. His paws are of the same felt as those on the original. The size of this lustrous limited edition of 1,931 pieces is the same as its year of origin, 1931.

Cowboy Rabbit™  This perfect 12" cowboy rabbit is true to the 1937 original, with a genuine mohair body and heavy cotton twill hands and feet. Ribbon wire in his arms and ears provide movability. Dressed in chaps, with a matching vest, hat and plaid bandana, the cowboy would not be complete without his toy gun and holster. The Cowboy Rabbit edition is limited to 1,937 pieces to reflect its year of introduction, 1937.

Bear on Wheel™  In 1928, Gund produced a large mohair bear mounted on a metal frame with working rubber edged wheels suitable for a child to ride on. This 9" replica, true to the original bear, has real glass eyes and a rubber wheel carriage. This extraordinary limited edition numbers 1,928 pieces to commemorate its year of introduction, 1928.

Velveteen Dog™  In 1922, Gund introduced this unique 9 1/2" lovable dog, highly innvoative then for its use of printed velveteen. His features include a hand-embroidered nose and mouth, real glass eyes, and the same elegant black satin ribbon trim that he originally wore. Its edition size is 1,922 pieces, the same as its year of introduction, 1922.

Pony on Wheels™  The genuine German mohair pony on wheels that Gund produced in 1932 was a tribute to the pony that all boys and girls wished for throughout childhood. This delightful 12" replica has real glass eyes, French knots for nostrils and leatherette reins and saddle. He is mounted on a metal frame with a working rubber edged wheel carriage. He is limited to 1,932 pieces, the same as the year he was created.
Lion on Wheels™ In 1932, Gund's mohair lion was mounted on a metal frame with a rubber wheel carriage. This 9" replica is made of genuine German mohair with real glass eyes, velveteen open mouth, full mane, and curved lion tail with a tuft. This edition is limited to 1,932 pieces, the same as the year he was created.
